What better place to relax than on a secret beach listening to the lapping of the waves and soaking up exquisite scenery? There are many hidden beaches away from the crowds and out of the limelight and here are a few of the world’s best kept secrets.

Rhossili Bay, Wales

The Welsh coastline is magnificent and is full of walks, beaches, and heritage. Rhossili Bay has three miles of golden sands and is in a stunning setting on the Gower Peninsula. Although it is increasingly popular it is still a very tranquil place. l Image

Porat Beach, Croatia

Lying in the Adriatic, the tiny island of Bisevo is famed for its intriguing Blue cave. It is less known for the exquisite Porat Beach. Sheltered by limestone cliffs this beautiful stretch of sand is perfect for a swim and lunch in the beach café. l Image

Truro, Massachusetts

The Cape Cod Coast is popular but just outside busy Provincetown is the lesser known village of Truro which has some of the quieter and more beautiful beaches. Places like Longnook Beach are a delight and really scenic. Cape Cod’s oldest lighthouse is also in Truro. l Image

Cayman Kai, Grand Cayman

As an alternative to the famous seven mile beach on Grand Cayman, escape the crowds and head to quieter Cayman Kai. This is very secluded, lies in a residential area and is a world away from the other Grand Cayman beaches with the air of a private stretch of sand just for you. l Image

Ko Lipe, Thailand

Escape WI-Fi and all the daily trappings of life in ko Lipe which is a beautiful island off the coast of Thailand. More peaceful than many other beaches and resorts, the shoreline here is an ideal place to chill out. One of the more interesting beaches on Ko Lipe is Ko Hin Ngam where the shore is made up of shiny black stones. l Image
